His background includes leadership roles in the Department of Defense, with extensive active-duty military service leading healthcare and nonprofit organizations. With a doctorate in strategic leadership and a master’s degree in healthcare administration, he is passionate about leading people and organizations to be their best, as they perform their mission, serve their customers, and steward the talents and resources God has given. Dr. Rick enjoys time with his family, hiking the Pacific Northwest, and reading non-fiction history.

Cherie began volunteering with us in December 2023 after relocating to North Idaho. She works at Open Arms to support women and preborn children due to her belief in God’s love for all people. Cherie has worked as a Labor and Delivery and Nursery nurse for over 30 years and, in 2013, she began using her skills to serve at pregnancy clinics, empowering women and their partners to choose life for their children. She has spent most of her adult life in Western Washington and has lived in five different states, serving in five pregnancy centers. Cherie has three daughters and eight grandchildren. She is passionate about Jesus, her family, and truth. Cherie feels honored to have been chosen to lead the nursing team at Open Arms and is excited to see where the Lord will lead Open Arms in the future.

Diana has experience working as a registered nurse in a variety of capacities — from bedside nursing to clinical settings to education training positions –but her heart lies in the calling of being a community health nurse. She is passionate about mentoring and building relationships, using nursing skills and knowledge, as well as a love for Christ, to instill hope and comfort, which can become a foundation for acquiring positive life skills and practices. Diana, along with her husband are natives of North Idaho. Together, they have four children and enjoy outdoor activities, gardening, and working at youth camps. In July 2022, she had the privilege and honor to join the Open Arms team to focus on education and bring clinical support to her community.

Dana was born and raised in Spokane Valley, Washington. After marrying Gary, she moved to their home on the farm in Worley, Idaho.. They have six children and ten grandchildren. When home-schooling her children became a priority and a passion, Dana re-directed her nursing abilities to provide private nursing for friends and family. As the Lord stirred her heart, she embraced her passion for the sanctity of life and became a peer advocate at Open Arms in 2012. Since then, Dana has also served as a volunteer nurse and nurse manager at Open Arms. When not at Open Arms, Dana spends time talking to her chickens, enjoying her grandchildren, and making bread for her loved ones.

Her professional experience includes working with mothers and babies in the postpartum and the mother/baby unit at the hospital, as well as teaching labor and delivery preparation classes. In 2014, her family moved to Coeur d’Alene, where she has enjoyed learning homesteading skills alongside her husband and children. Jessica’s love for God and women led her to Open Arms in 2021 as a volunteer nurse, and in 2023 she became a staff nurse. She enjoys homeschooling her five children, reading, gardening, baking, and homemaking.

Gardening, hiking and snowshoeing, biking, studying Scripture, and adventuring with her husband Dean are among her favorite activities outside of Open Arms. Joy in the Lord and His purposes compel her to minister through Open Arms and her role as Staff Advocate to impart hope, love, and life to each beloved client she encounters.

God was always faithful to provide good church homes and amazing Christian friends in every town. Besides her kids, her passions are adoption, foster care and the pro-life community. Before working with Open Arms, she worked for a private foster/adoption agency in Southern California. After her son graduated early to Heaven, she wrote a children’s book focusing on the joy and adventures her son and his dog were getting to experience in Heaven. “Tyler and Jewel in the Forever Place”. North Idaho now feels like coming home where she enjoys gardening, kayaking and hiking when not traveling to visit her children and grandchildren in other states.

Kimberly’s first ministry is her family but she is passionate about helping others and being available to be the hands and feet of Jesus. A gifted communicator with a heart for people, she uses her creativity and passion to share stories of hope and transformation made possible through the ministry of Open Arms.
Ashley is a single mom to her ten-year-old son, whom she also homeschools. Becoming a mother deepened the compassion she’s always had for women, especially those navigating unplanned pregnancies. Her personal journey fuels her professional mission and inspired her to found Single Moms in Life Empowerment (SMILE), a nonprofit that provides encouragement, support, and resources to single mothers.
When she's not working, Ashley enjoys reading, writing, journaling, worship, hiking, walking, swimming, paddle boarding, dancing, playing board games, going out to eat, and spending time serving at church. She is grateful to be part of the Open Arms team and passionate about helping women and families experience hope, healing, and truth.
